Miranda finds a new home in a Studio of Splendour!

My dearest Polkadot Panda has found herself a new home, in the beautiful 'Milame and Friends' Studio located in Union Street, just off Kloof Street in Cape Town. I am absolutely delighted that Miranda has a little corner in so lovely a place!

The 'Milame and Friends' studio is a delight to behold, located in a picturesque street and accentuated by high ceilings, a sweeping view of Table Mountain and delicate orchids quivering in the soft, golden light flooding through the windows. It is the ideal place to visit should you wish to buy someone a truly unique, hand-crafted piece of jewellery, designed and manufactured on the premises by one of the talented jewellery designers, or simply wish to spoil yourself with a trinket to treasure.

The studio houses three distinct brands, namely Milame (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Milame-handmade-design), Muchigaloosh (https://www.facebook.com/muchigaloosh) and Bellareathe (https://www.facebook.com/BellareatheJewellery), each with their own one-of-a-kind charm. One of the most unique aspects of the studio is that you may witness either Emma, Michelle or Phoebe beavering away at their workbenches, offering the layperson a unique insight into the craft, skill and intensity that is required to produce products of such beauty and refinement.

In particular, Phoebe McLaughlin of Bellareathe (https://www.facebook.com/BellareatheJewellery) is famed for her unique, zany brand of utter originality - her designs are unmistakable and will add an element of incomparable loveliness to your life. Individually crafted to the highest standard, the Bellareathe range is synonomous with individuality and the 'perfection of imperfection'.

Phoebe is particularly passionate about her glorious range of 'Dali bracelets', unique swirls of silver that are inspired by Salvador's infamous words: "Have no fear of perfection, you'll never reach it." These bracelets shimmer with a truly surrealist splendour, resting on the wearer's wrist like a delicate spiderweb of entangled silver beauty. Visit her facebook page to see numerous photographs showcasing her work, including the provocative and topical "What Next?" range juxtaposing the threatened rhino with the already extinct Dino.

I strongly encourage you to treat yourself to an inspiring and utterly wonderful visit to this haven of creativity and sparkly things. If you 'like' their page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Milame-handmade-design) you can keep up to date with future events/launches that may take place.

They have a few carefully selected products, such as these simply GLORIOUS handbags (Ani wouldn't mind one under her Christmas Tree.....Just saying..... Santa, you had better be paying attention), photography prints and prints of the bedazzling twirly design that coils itself upon the shop window.

  2. Hi Eddy, thank you so much for your lovely comments! I really appreciate your support.

I couldn't agree with you more, it seems incongruous to call writing a "career" or "work" when it is something that is a pure joy to partake in! I have always loved this quotation by Rainer Maria Rilke: "Find out the reason that commands you to wrte; see whether it has spread its roots into the very depth of your heart".

What is your book called, I'd love to keep an eye out for it? Have a truly wonderful Christmas xxxx Love Ani
